Where the Snapshot stops. Some weaving centres produced for two very different markets under one name — a collector piece and an export piece that look alike in a photograph and are not worth the same. Telling them apart needs a trained eye on the pile, the foundation and the back, which a self-serve form cannot ask for. When your rug is from one of those origins and you have told us it is 50 years old or more, the Snapshot does not give you a number. It directs you to a Certified Appraisal and applies your $35 as credit against it.

Provenance — Recorded Only

Display-only. Your provenance grade is recorded on the Snapshot and carries no multiplier — it does not change the value shown. On a Certified Appraisal the appraiser grades provenance P0–P5 from the evidence; at P3 and above it may support a documented appraiser adjustment, recorded with its size and reason.
